First album for double bassist Dave Watts who takes on the roles of leader, composer and arranger, offering up seven of his own compositions. To perform his music, he has enlisted the help of long-time partners in crime Kenny Bibace on guitar, Dave Mossing on trumpet, Julie Lamontagne on piano and Richard Irwin on drums. You get a sense of their perfect osmosis and deep rapport. The result is decisively original and modern jazz, by times lyrical, with trumpet providing an ethereal quality and guitar an electrifying touch.
