After winning several classical music competitions starting around age 16, Samuel Blais studied at the Montreal Conservatory of Music for 3 years.  Following his graduation, he studied at McGill University where he completed a bachelors degree in Jazz Performance which led him to continue his musical education at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music in New York, obtaining a Masters degree in Jazz Performance.  The 3 years he spent in New York allowed him to perfect his art and to perform with worldwide renown musicians such as Greg Osby, Jim Black, Larry Grenadier, Nate Smith, Donny McCaslin, Jamie Baum, etc. Samuel Blais performed extensivly in the USA and Canada, as well as in France, Belgium, Mexico and Hong Kong.

Simon Legault first picked up the guitar at age 16. In high school, he won 1st prize in the provincial contest Secondaire sur Scène, playing his original jazz compositions. He then enrolled at Collège Lionel-Groulx in Sainte-Thérèse in the pop/jazz guitar program. During this time he won 1st prize in the Bourses Desjardins d’excellence en musique, still playing his own music.

In 1990, Sonia Johnson settled in Montreal to pursue her studies in classical singing at the Vincent-d'Indy School of Music. That is where she discovered vocal jazz through some workshops given by bassist  Michel Donato. Self-taught improviser, she developed her craft by listening to legends of the vocal tradition.

Since first catching the world’s attention as winner of the Yamaha award at The Montreal International Jazz Festival in 1983, jazz guitarist and composer Sylvain Provost has become a prominent and renowned force on the Canadian and International Jazz scene.
