This debut album by Jazz Culture Club seeks to create an atmosphere of freedom leading to a harmonious contemplation of nature, hence the album’s title. Comprised mostly of compositions by guitarist François Rioux, the album is meant to be a philosophical reflection on the concepts of existence and destiny, as well as the idea of letting Life run its course freely. The music of Jazz Culture Club draws inspiration from New York City modern jazz, while keeping an ever-present swing feel.

Alexandre Dion’s saxophone saunters through melodies and improvisations around Rioux’s rich and varied guitar harmonies, all the while sustained by the impeccable swing of David Gagné on double bass and Pierre-Emmanuel Beaudoin on drums. This group’s musicality and creativity place them firmly among the best of their generation in Québec… A musical event not to be missed!

François Rioux – guitars
